The official soundtracks for the novella «The Last Wish» have been released

The author of the Last Wish visual novel soundtracks is the professional musician and sound designer Ilya Shiny, who founded the Shiny Radio project in 2009 and released more than 30 Drum'N'Bass tracks.
We are really lucky to work with Ilya as a team. His somewhat gloomy, deep, mysterious musical compositions help players to switch off from their daily routine and plunge into the mystery story of Last Wish.
We had a small interview with Ilya.

– When did you start writing music?
I was interested in music from a young age thanks to my uncle. He used to share his audiotapes with me when I was young. There was a Jungle Collection of the mid 90s among them. As soon as I got to know this genre, I promised myself to learn how to write music like that.
In 2002 I got my first computer. This is when I installed a music sequencer and started writing my first audio tracks.
– What is your favorite music style to work with?
I'm a melomaniac, and this is why it is so important for me that the music combines elements of various music styles. Drum'N'Bass is one of them. It has no rigid boundaries and can be mixed with the components of other styles.
– What inspires you when you write music? How much time did it take to create soundtracks for the game?
The atmosphere of the novel itself energizes me big time. The team and I are so wrapped up in the game, that soundtracks came up by themselves. It didn't take long to write melodies. Judging by the feedback from the players, we`ve done a good job!
– Did other members of the team take part in the soundtracks creating process? Did you have any disagreements?
Of course they did! We respect one another, so we had no disagreements. We discussed ideas, defining which musical style is more suitable for this or that episode.
– What are your plans for future development of the Last Wish soundtracks?
Each of the three future episodes will have unique soundtracks. Maybe we will even invite other musicians and performers. Soundtracks became the most important part of the Last Wish novel. Music helps to drift players into the atmosphere of the game. We`ve got many original ideas and ambitious plans. And after the release of new episodes we will find out to what extent we will be able to fulfill them.
